“A Vision for a Better Future – Justice and Equality for All”
The Christian United Movement (CUM) was founded on August 11, 2010, by a visionary young leader, Mr. Michael Rose, with a mission to uphold the democratic rights, dignity, and equal citizenship of all Pakistanis—regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background.
Mr. Rose, himself from the Christian minority, observed firsthand how minority communities—Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, and others—had long been marginalized, neglected by their political representatives, and left without meaningful participation in the democratic process. Despite their loyalty and contributions to Pakistan since its creation, minorities were treated as second-class citizens. The selected political systems, often manipulated by elites, failed to represent their voices and continued to damage the soul of true democracy.
Determined to challenge this injustice, Mr. Michael Rose founded the Christian United Movement—not only as a voice for religious minorities, but as a unifying political force for all citizens of Pakistan who believe in democracy, equality, justice, and national unity.
The party was symbolically founded on August 11, in honor of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s historic speech to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on August 11, 1947, in which he clearly articulated the vision of a secular, inclusive state:
> “You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other places of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed—that has nothing to do with the business of the State.”
– Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, August 11, 1947
This speech serves as the ideological foundation of the Christian United Movement. CUM seeks to revive the original spirit of Pakistan—a country where people of all faiths and communities can live together in dignity, mutual respect, and equal rights under the law.
Core Principles of the Christian United Movement:
Unity beyond religion – embracing Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, and all citizens of Pakistan as equal partners in the nation’s future.
True democracy – rejecting the culture of selection and demanding free, fair, and representative elections.
Justice and equality – ensuring constitutional rights, protection of minorities, and an end to religious discrimination.
Youth leadership and empowerment – giving voice to the next generation and preparing them to lead with integrity and vision.
Nation-building through moral governance – promoting transparency, accountability, and service-oriented leadership grounded in ethical values.
From humble beginnings, the Christian United Movement continues to grow as a national platform committed to building a better, fairer, and stronger Pakistan—for everyone. Guided by faith, unity, and patriotism, CUM calls on all citizens to stand together for the Pakistan that Quaid-e-Azam envisioned, where no one is left behind.
